According to a few on twitter, we have been in contact with a 3-4 managers about the job for next season.

Who would people want in charge next season?

On train of thought is that if we don’t announce the new manager prior to the end of the season they may already be in a job elsewhere. I may be completely off with that but I would guess if the manager the club wanted was available now I would assume the owners would get him in so he can make a decision on the players that are already here.

Would be interesting to see who people think would be a good (realistic) appointment for the job.

Names I have seen linked are:

Danny Cowley
Lee Allinson
Kevin Maher (potentially expecting to be sacked at Southend)
Luke Garrard

I think Lee Allinson the manager of Hemel Hempstead would be a good choice. He has done a great job in getting a small cub like them in to contention of the playoffs.
He is 40 years of age and knows this division well and would be a realistic and worthwhile appointment.

I can't see Maher being sacked whilst Southend's season is still alive. Mind you if Mr Fernandes was sitting with Mr Still the other day, who did leave Southend, who knows?

No because he seems to be the same sort of level as Lee Bradbury. We need someone more ambitious who has been at a higher level and knows what it takes to win promotion, not almost.

A couple of old threads worth revisiting.

I’m not sure in what world established EFL manager Danny Cowley or NL promotion contender Luke Garrard are realistic possibilities. The club has been in a constant decline for over a decade and we are well off either of those levels. People have to accept that reality. If we want to get back to that level, then it will only be achieved by picking the best man at our level. For me that’s Allinson.

Any comparison of Allinson to Bradbury is well off in my opinion. Allinson is succeeding right now, and has been from the moment he joined Hemel. Bradbury was succeeding 8 years ago and hasn’t since. Momentum in someone’s career is hugely important. Just like with players, it’s better to sign a Stan Leech than a George Marsh.

Maher won’t happen and I don’t want him. I think the only option of an exceptional manager that could be realistic is Hinshelwood if Worthing don’t go up. But even then, he is easily EFL quality and I’d expect him to have much more appealing job offers than us this summer.

Until we know a plan of what the club wants to do its pointless even talking about a manager. Is there a big budget? Will we stay full time? Lots of questions still unanswered despite the takeover being completed.

There is an exciting project about to start, if the pay and budget is right we could easily attract someone from further up the pyramid, the Cowleys current financial predicament at Colchester could easily see them persuaded to join us.

It's three weeks since Bradbury was dispensed with so hoping new manager will be appointed soon.

With regard to Lee Allinson as my choice, I thought that if he can do such a great job at Hemel Hempstead with what I assume is a very modest budget he would be able to do so much more with us if our owners are as ambitious as we hope.
